Information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the new government restrictions: UMA is temporarily closed.
The Western Australian Government has announced that particular WA businesses and venues, including United Martial Arts and Fitness Academy , will be required to maintain a mandatory contact register of staff, members and visitors from 5 December 2020. Maintaining a contact register is an additional protection measure and one of the most effective ways to control the spread of COVID-19.
Contact registration will commence at UMA from 3:00pm on Friday 4th December.
All members will be required to download the SafeWA contact register app, a safe and secure state government app that allows the scanning of unique QR codes to check-in at venues across WA. Data will be encrypted at the point of capture, stored securely and only be available by authorised Department of Health contact tracing personnel should COVID-19 tracing be needed. A manual check-in process will be made available to those without a smartphone.
Contact tracing for members:
• It will be mandatory for all members to register at UMA.
• Parents will be required to show their member’s check-in pass to be granted entry to the above venues. No scan, no entry – UMA has the right to refuse entry to any students who does not check-in. Please DO NOT click ‘Done’ after registering until after you leave UMA. Clicking “Done” will remove your check-in pass from the app and you will be required to register again.
• Members without a smartphone will be required to check-in manually at UMA.
• Scanning will be discretionary at UMA entrance.
Authorised officers may inspect venues to ensure requirements for contact registration are complied with. A business or organisation must provide contact register information to an authorised officer within three hours or as soon as practicable after they are requested to do so. Failing to comply could result in fines and penalties of up to $50,000 for an individual and $250,000 for UMA or 12 months’ imprisonment.
In the event COVID-19 contact tracing is required, UMA will be directed by the government and Department of Health.
In preparation for the 5 December implementation, please download the SafeWA app now available from the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store.

How Your Children Can Benefit from Taekwondo?
Introducing your children to taekwondo sets goals for them and helps them to learn the skills to achieve these goals. They will also develop the strength and self-discipline to overcome setbacks along the way, how to get up and try again if they fall. Most importantly, they are going to learn how to treat others with respect. All of these skills will be useful in school, social situations and throughout life. While it is true that there is no single martial art that covers every aspect of every discipline, taekwondo with its focus on striking a balance between mind, spirit and body is a well-rounded martial arts technique.
